On the afternoon of May 22, a special party class on studying and implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important reply to the students of the Science and Technology Courtyard of China Agricultural University was held at the Big Data Center of the Emerald Science and Education Building. The party class was given by Hong Richang, the executive vice dean of the college, and more than 50 teachers and students from various grades, graduate student associations, and the second party branch of undergraduates participated in the study.

Hong Richang led the teachers and students present to study the original text of General Secretary Xi Jinping's reply to the students of the Science and Technology Courtyard of China Agricultural University. Combined with the development history and operation results of the Science and Technology Courtyard of China Agricultural University, he explained that contemporary youth should learn the "Science and Technology Courtyard" spirit from three aspects. First, they should seek truth from facts, go to places where problems are prominent and conditions are difficult to study and discover practical problems; second, they should connect with the masses, truly understand what the masses think and hope for; third, they should be willing to endure hardship, take the initiative to go to the front line of major struggles, and tough and complex areas for training and tempering.

Hong Richang encouraged the majority of young people in the college to shoulder the historical mission, strengthen their confidence in moving forward, firmly grasp the five major principles on the path of building a modern socialist country, and put forward three expectations. First, they should hone their excellent skills and grow their abilities through trials and tribulations; second, they should dare to struggle hard and accumulate experience through layers of trials; third, they should adhere to the unity of knowledge and action, and hone their abilities in real battles.

This special party class has both theoretical height and practical depth. It is an important measure for the college to study, publicize and implement the spirit of the 20th Party Congress and to carry out thematic education solidly.
