The faculty and students of the college achieved excellent results in the 16th National College Students Information Security Competition in 2023.

The College of Computer and Information Science, with the main force of undergraduate majors in information security, achieved excellent results in the 16th National College Students Information Security Competition in 2023. Our college students and teachers prepared seriously and performed excellently. Two teams entered the finals and finally won one national second prize and one national third prize.

The National College Students Information Security Competition Innovation Practice Ability Competition is a public welfare scientific and technological activity for college students nationwide, initiated and hosted by the Higher Education Network Space Security Professional Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, and hosted in rotation by related universities nationwide. In 2019, the competition was officially selected for the Chinese College Students' Discipline Competition Ranking. The competition aims to cultivate students' innovative consciousness and team spirit, popularize information security knowledge, enhance students' awareness of information security, improve students' innovative practice ability in network attack and defense, and promote the talent cultivation and industry-university-research application of the network space security ecosystem.

The 16th National College Students Information Security Competition was hosted by the Higher Education Network Space Security Professional Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, and co-hosted by Zhejiang University and Hangzhou University of Electronic Science and Technology. This competition was the first offline competition after the pandemic.

A total of 774 teams entered the preliminary competition, and finally 319 teams advanced to the finals. From August 18th to 20th, the finals were held at the Zijingang Campus of Zhejiang University, where the contestants presented their works, demonstrated systems, and defended. After fierce competition, a total of 44 first prizes, 66 second prizes, 88 third prizes, and 121 excellence awards were finally awarded.
