The National College Student Computer System Capability Competition is a national competition for college students, initiated by the System Capability Training Research Expert Group and hosted by universities that initiated the Computer Education Research Association and the System Capability Training Research Project. It is also included in the Ministry of Education's competition directory and is an important academic competition in the field of computer systems. Its aim is to promote the reform of the innovative talent training system in the field of computer systems and cultivate technical talents in key areas such as high-end chips and basic software in our country.

This competition includes four categories of competitions: compiler system design, operating system design, database management system design, and CPU design, attracting participating teams from more than 200 universities across the country. In the end, 303 teams and 50 individual competitors successfully advanced to the national finals, including participating teams from Tsinghua University, Peking University, University of Science and Technology of China, Nanjing University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Sun Yat-sen University.

After intense preliminary selection and final competition, the four participating teams from the School of Computer Science achieved excellent results. They respectively won one second prize in the individual competition of the CPU Design Contest, one third prize in the RISC-V track of the Compiler System Design Contest, one third prize in the Kernel Implementation track of the Operating System Design Contest, and one third prize in the Function Challenge track of the Operating System Design Contest.

The outstanding performance in this competition has further enhanced the reputation of Hefei University of Technology, and also promoted the exchange between participating students, guiding teachers and other universities. In recent years, thanks to the strong support of the college, teachers of computer system-related courses have actively responded to the Ministry of Education's "101" plan. They not only focus on curriculum teaching reform, but also fully recognize the key role of scientific and creative activities in the process of student training, actively guiding and encouraging students to participate in various competitions. This teaching model of "promoting learning through competition, promoting teaching through competition" not only enhances students' interest in learning, but also contributes a solid force to the national goal of cultivating innovative talents in computer science.
