On the evening of July 1st, the final seminar and award ceremony for the best presenter of the first "Hubing" Reading Club machine learning series event of the School of Computer and Information was held in Room 1106, Block A, Emerald Science and Education Building. This event was hosted by Associate Professor Hu Wenbo, and Professor Hong Richang, the executive vice dean of the School of Computer and Information, along with more than 40 undergraduate and graduate students attended.

The first "Hubing" Reading Club Machine Learning Series event was initiated and mentored by Associate Professor Hu Wenbo from the School of Computer and Information. The reading club used the English book "Probabilistic Machine Learning" written by renowned international machine learning scientist Kevin Murphy as the basic textbook, and adopted a method of student-led reporting, pre-meeting tutoring by mentors, and on-site comments. The entire reading club was divided into 15 lectures, covering the introduction and mathematical foundations of machine learning, core models of machine learning such as neural networks and probabilistic graphical models, and extending to the frontier achievements of artificial intelligence such as generative models and causal inference. During a semester of study, the participating students overcame many difficulties such as intense coursework and the first reading of English literature, successfully completed all the reporting work, and deeply learned the basic knowledge and frontier progress of machine learning and artificial intelligence.

According to the evaluation criteria of "adequate preparation, clear thinking, and independent thinking", a total of 6 students won the Excellent Report Award, including 4 from Hefei Campus and 2 from Xuancheng Campus. Associate Professor Hu Wenbo presented book prizes to the students who won the Excellent Report Award.
